Product Description

I. What is Life Raft?
A life raft refers to a boat with no self-propelled capability for life-saving purposes on board. The life raft is equipped with a certain amount of food and fresh water for the crew to use when drifting at sea.

II. What is flexible life raft?
The life raft is provided with buoyancy by the upper and lower floating tires made of rubber material, and the tent is made of double-layer waterproof nylon cloth. After the life raft body is folded up, it is stored in the glass fiber reinforced plastic storage tank together with the accessories. Inflatable life rafts have advanced design, compact structure, good safety, convenient movement, simple operation and rapid forming, so they are widely used in various ships at sea.
There are two types of inflatable life rafts, namely mechanical hoisting and throwing. The mechanical lifting raft has been inflated before entering the water; the throwing life raft is inflated on the sea surface. During the inflating process, the life raft may be in a state of overturning, so that it needs to be manually launched and straightened before it can be used for boarding.

III. Inflatable life raft fabrics
1. Urethane: Pros: Slips nicely over rocks, most durable fabric, lightweight, best puncture and tear resistance, durable. The welding process they use to make these boats is bomber. Cons: Fairly expensive, tough to roll and transport, difficult to field repair*.
2. Hypalon: Pros: Easy to roll, relatively easy to field repair, and the material has a long life. Cons: Expensive, glued together (instead of welded) so it can come unglued sometimes. More abrasion and puncture resistant than PVC, but less than urethane.
3. PVC: Pro: inexpensive. Cons: not particularly durable, can crack when rolled in cold temperatures, tend to be mass produced so these boats are known for quality issues.
